Psychotherapist Carl Rogers listens as he acts as keynote speaker at the World Symposium on Humanity in 1979. Rogers was one of the founders of humanistic psychology, which promotes a more person-to-person approach to the traditional therapist-patient relationship, and emphasizes the responsibility and intention in human behavior, as opposed to the more determinant ideas inherent in behaviorism and psychoanalysis.
